We are going to continue to list the concerts and events for the coming week here (as you will note at the bottom of the page). However, all concerts and events that are off on the horizon will be posted on the pages above.
1) First Friday – January 7th- Downtown Phoenix – It’s that time of the month where the artists of Phoenix open their doors to the public. Since First Friday is one of the coolest and greatest cultural events that Phoenix has to offer it’s a must see event!
2) Tostitos BCS National Championship – January 10th – 6:30 PM – University of Phoenix Stadium – According to the Fiesta Bowl’s website: "The Fiesta Bowl is proud to host its seventh national championship game on January 10, 2011. The No. 1 team in the country will face-off against the No. 2 team at University of Phoenix Stadium vying for the national title."
We have tickets still available for the game! However, due to the extreme demand tickets aren’t cheap:
5) Phoenix Suns – Friday is the day that former Sun and current New York Knick forward Amare Stoudemire makes his return to Phoenix. As of press time barely under 1000 tickets remain for the game…..most are singles.
6) University of Oregon Tailgate Party – Well Bar – This Friday through Sunday – THE Oregon bar in the Greater Phoenix area is throwing down a huge party sponsored by Widmere (how could they not sponsor this party??!?!?). If you’re a Ducks fan or on the Bandwagon, this is the place to be this weekend!

Well, we are in the middle of a major overhaul of the main AZ Vibe website at the moment and that includes this weekly article. As you can see we are transitioning to a new format and eventually will be moving the events and concerts off on the horizon to their own dedicate page. If you look at the Concerts format at the bottom of this page, each event has a link to either the ticket purchasing page or to an article with expanded coverage and information. This is the format we are going to be transferring to when the overhaul is done.

10) Phoenix Fringe Festival – April 2nd through April 11th – The Fringe festival is back for another year of experimental artists showcasing their talents. This festival is one of the reasons why Phoenix is rich in Arts and Culture.
Taste 2010 – Sunday April 11th – 6 to 9 PM – Kierland Commons – For 36 years, the Taste events have been a showcase of the best of what Phoenix has to offer in food and wine. This year promises to showcase the best of the best while benefitting The Boys and Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix.
14) Arizona Diamondbacks 2010 Season – Another season of Diamondbacks baseball begins on April 5th with an afternoon game against the San Diego Padres. New manager AJ Hinch has the Diamondbacks ready to take on Major League Baseball’s best! Don’t miss the action this season as they challenge for the AL West title!

Well, we are in the middle of a major overhaul of the main AZ Vibe website at the moment and that includes this weekly article. As you can see we are transistioning to a new format and eventually will be moving the events and concerts off on the horizion to their own dedicate page. If you look at the Concerts format at the bottom of this page, each event has a link to either the ticket purchasing page or to an article with expanded coverage and information. This is the format we are going to be transferring to when the overhaul is done.
As for this week, the four main general events going on around town are:
- Wrestlemania XXVI – The Grandaddy of all Wrestling events is finally here. Taking over the University of Phoenix Stadium, the WWE never failed to put on anything less than a tremendous event.
- Spring Training winding down – We’re in the final days of Spring Training and if you haven’t gone out to check out a game in this lovely weather, do it!
- Big events in Tempe – The Tempe Festival of the Arts and the Dragon Boat festival out on Tempe Town lake make for a tremendous cultural afternoon out in the sun.
- Concerts – Paul McCartney and the Black Eyed Peas highlight a tremendous week in music around town
1)THE biggest thing goin on this coming week are the events surrounding the tail end of the WWE Wrestlemania XXVI. Two wrestling events and one Hall of Fame evening are the proverbial cherry on the frosting for a tremendous week with the WWE. Here’s the three events you should check out:
WWE Hall of Fame Night- March 27th – Dodge Theater – This is the night that the WWE dedicated to enshrining past wrestlers into it’s Hall of Fame

Phoenix Coyotes games are amongst the the things going on around the area. This week’s edition of the top things to do around the area is also PACKED full of some great cultural events and festivals. My schedule is already full of some great things going on around the area!
1) Devoured Phoenix - March 13th and 14th – Phoenix Art Museum – Devoured is an amazing event that is designed to promote greater Phoenix area as a major culinary destination.
