As you may or may not know, Conan O’Brien’s new show will be starting soon on TBS. Up until a few days ago, no one knew what the name of the show would be. Conan O’Brien posted the following video to YouTube to make the announcement.
ORLANDO-Yesterday at Celebration V in Orlando, Florida, Director George Lucas dropped a great bit of news for all Star Wars fans during a rare interview with the Daily Show’s ‘Jon Stewart’. Lucas announced that all six Star Wars motion pictures will be available on Blu-Ray DVD Box set in the fall of 2011.
The package promises the highest quality picture and sound along with a TON of extras. According to the press release, this was one of the bonus features that will be included in the DVD package:
Star Wars fans were treated to a glimpse of bonus material, in the form of a long-lost deleted scene from Return of the Jedi. The scene has long been talked about online — a sequence that depicts Luke Skywalker assembling his new, green-bladed lightsaber prior to infiltrating Jabba the Hutt’s palace. After completing the Jedi weapon, Luke stashes it in R2-D2′s dome. What makes the Jedi deleted clip so remarkable is that it made it all the way to postproduction before it was cut, so it is a rare example of a cut scene with completed visual effects and music.
Actor Mark Hamill came out to describe the scene, remarking that once again his original introduction in a Star Wars film was cut out (his Anchorhead introduction was, of course, cut from A New Hope). Luke’s intro is purposely played as ominous, with his face cowled in shadows and his intentions unclear.”I had the black cloak, the glove, and I thought, wow, this time around I get to be the antagonist. Little did I know I was predicting the path of the prequels,” said Hamill, noting the similarities to Luke in this scene and Anakin Skywalker’s appearance.
This is audio of Aaron Douglas’s (aka The Chief from Battlestar Galactica) visit to the Phoenix Comicon last week. He spent the first part of this session talking about lots of things and then answered some questions which include a potential rumor about a possible new Battlestar Galactica series on the Sci-Fi channel!
The brand new Doors documentary “When You’re Strange” is a fresh look at the legend that was the Doors and will be showing at the MADCAP Theaters in Tempe on May 7th and 8th (info below).
Narrated by actor Johnny Depp, “When You’re Strange” the movie takes a look at the mystery and chemistry that made the Doors such a power force in pop and rock music even to this day. According to Johnny Depp, “Watching the hypnotic, hitherto unreleased footage of Jim, John, Ray and Robby, I felt like I experienced it all through their eyes. As a rock n’ roll documentary, or any kind of documentary for that matter, it simply doesn’t get any better than this. What an honor to have been involved. I am as proud of this as anything I have ever done.”
From what I have been reading, this is a must see event if you are a Doors fan or a movie buff.
“When You’re Strange” is showing May 7th and 8th at the MADCAP Theaters. Showtimes are 6:00 PM, 8:00 PM, and 10:00 PM
