Ozzfest 2005

Heavy Metal legends Iron Maiden are embarking on a brand new world tour that will be playing the Cricket Wireless Pavilion for one night only on June 17th. Opening the show will be another metal legend, Dream Theater.

Iron Maiden lead singer Bruce Dickinson had this to say on what fans can expect for the Cricket Wireless Show “We’re still working on the set list for these summer shows, but this time it will cover the whole history of the band, and I can hint that we will be playing a taster from the new album. We already have the designs for the new Final Frontier stage show which we are building to bring out with us, so this summer tour will be a bit of a preview for the fans. It’s certainly looking very spectacular at this stage and with a brand new Eddie and an amazing light show!”

Dream Theater’s Mike Portnoy had this to say about opening for Iron Maiden on this tour:

“Touring with Iron Maiden in North America is a bit of a dream come true for us! After 25 years together, at this stage in our career there’s honestly only three bands Dream Theater would consider opening for…and Maiden is one of them! It is an absolute honor. Through the years, we’ve done many one-off shows with Maiden and they’ve almost all been overseas, so it is very exciting to finally be doing a full tour with them--and on our side of the pond no less!”

This is a unique chance to see two great live bands in such an amazing setting. Iron Maiden has built a reputation for their stage shows, their music and their influence on fans. Come see why anyone who loves metal music is a fan of Iron Maiden. Don’t believe me? Check out the YouTube links below to get a good sample of what a live Iron Maiden show is all about!

General Admission pit tickets, which will bring you up close and personal with the band, are $101.00

Lawn Tickets are $26.00

4 Packs of Reserved Seats are available to purchase for this show for only $84.00!

Ever since YouTube has loosened their restrictions on videos that are over 10 minutes in lenght, you can find some damn good stuff if you know where to look.

For example, this is a full-length Radiohead show from their 2003 appearance at the Glastonbury festival touring behind ‘Hail to the Theif’.  Just an amazing show.

Keep an eye on the crowd after the 4:38 mark.  They go absolutely INSANE which sets the tone for the rest of the show.

O.A.R. Returns to the Bird’s Nest at the WM Phoenix Open!

Posted by Woody On January - 16 - 2010

Please note that this is a 21 and over show!

That’s right!  The band that blew the roof off at the Bird’s Nest last year is returning to the ‘Nest’ for the coveted Saturday night headline spot!  O.A.R. will be performing February 27th at the 2010 WM Phoenix Open’s (Formerly the FBR Open) Bird’s Nest .  The party starts at 3:30 PM (which is pretty much when the day’s festivities at the WM Phoenix Open are done) and doesn’t stop until late into the night!

For those of you who have been to the Bird’s Nest, I don’t need to tell you that it’s one HUGE, FUN party.

If you haven’t been to the Bird’s Nest or are undecided about going, going to the Bird’s Nest is a MUST on anyone’s social calendar.  Add the music of O.A.R. into the mix, and you have the makings for one of the most memorable party experiences you’ll ever have.

I caught O.A.R. last year at the Bird’s Nest not knowing a thing about the band.  The crowd at the Bird’s Nest got more and more into the music of O.A.R by their cheering, singing along to the songs and dancing.  O.A.R. totally fed off of the crowd’s enthusiasm of their music.  The atmosphere at the Bird’s Nest that night was already in party mode.  However, once the music of O.A.R. began, it was like watching gasoline being added to a fire…in a good way.  The music and the attitude and energy of the crowd were the perfect compliments for each other.

By the time the night ended, O.A.R. not only destroyed the stage but they gained MANY new fans moving forward.  Expect a concert experience this year that will be hard to match!

Finally, if you aren’t a music buff, the Bird’s Nest is THE place to see and be seen.   Don’t miss the first great party of the year!

Tickets (on sale today at 10 AM!):

Tickets for this performance of O.A.R. at the Bird’s nest start at $35 ($40 on the day of the show) and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets and via the link below:

http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/1E00442DF7D3B407?artistid=855864&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=107

VIP Tickets are $175 each.  Ticket purchasing information will be released shortly.  Check back with this article and we’ll let you know how to score your VIP passes to this amazing concert experience.

Included with each VIP ticket are the following:

- Access to the Ketel One VIP area
- Exclusive VIP entrance separate from the General Admission area
- Catered Dinner from Sushi Roku
- Complimentary Drinks
- Access to the VIP premium viewing area for the show

Please note that this is a 21 and over show!

So what’s O.A.R. like in concert?  Check these videos out.
