AZ Vibe – The Ultimate Phoenix Entertainment Resource

Where Phoenix goes to find out what's really going on!

How It Works

Posted by Editor On June - 25 - 2008

Here’s how We’re going to start doing this….

We’re going to compile a list of at least three events per day (If there are that many fun things to do in a day) of what I think are the best of the best things to do around town every few days.   We will make posts for every event and then add them to the calendar, add tags to them that will help you find them quicker off the front page.   These posts will have general information/links for you to check out.

We plan on attending at least one event per week but we won’t say witch one.  Well, most of the time we won’t say which one.

After the event I’ll then post my review of the event I attended and with pictures.  I’m planning on doing different things every week as I love variety in my life.

Calendar/List of events by day

The Calendar is temporary out of order. We’ll have it back on line soon.

Categories

Big one-time events we will not only post something on the calendar but we will make a blog post too.  For example, if U2 Came to town, we will put the info about the concert on the calendar and we will put all the ticket and show info in a blog post and will be listed under the ‘Big Events’ category.  We’re still playing around with the organization of this aspect of the site so bear with me until I get a good system down.

Events listed by subject

Tags are a more detailed category listing of things to do around town.  If you’re looking for specific/exact things to do around town just click one of the links contained in the Tag section and a list of posts will pop up containing related information  It’s like a big glossary or Search function of the information you want just a click away.  This is the best way to find the events you are looking for if you know what you want to do or you need help finding something to do.

WHAT THIS SITE WILL CONTAIN:

Cool stuff to do that won’t burn a hole in your pocket book.  I will post some things that might be on the more expensive site but for the most part I’ll be posting things that are fun and cheap…mostly fun.  I’ll also post some things that are fun but are ‘off the beaten path’, entertainment wise.

WHAT THIS SITE WON’T CONTAIN:

Anything that is for Families – There’s WAY too many other places to get great information about what to do with your families on the weekends in the Phoenix area.  If you can’t find it, “I can’t do nothin fo you man” (To quote Flavor Flav).

Boring ass date stuff – Part of the reason we created this site is that we are not only bored in general but we are compiling a mental list of cool dating places to go.  I personally will never take a date out for ‘Dinner and a Movie’ or  ‘Dinner and Dancing’ and other combinations of garbage dating.  You know what I’m talking about.  The types of outings that promote the lack of talking or promote the watching of the other person eat for two or so hours during said date.  I want to take a date to a place where I can get them to talk about themselves and have some fun while we are out…

Political Stuff – This site is about having fun there’s other sites on the internet you can go to find out how to go do political stuff in the Phoenix area.

Mainstream Movie reviews – Part of the reason is covered in the boring ass date stuff and the other reason is that there are too many other news type places to get movie information.  Once in a blue moon I’ll post something movie related only if it blows me away or is just too unique to pass up.

Events for certain people – If you have to be a member or only certain types of people are allowed (men-only, women-only, <insert name of race here> only, etc) I won’t post it so don’t bother us about it.  This site is meant to have events for everyone to check out.

Tourist related stuff – This site is not designed for tourist events.  This site is for us locals.  There are way too many other sites that you can find all the tourist related stuff on.

Restaurant reviews – The main reason I (the editor) personally won’t be posting restaurant reviews is that I am allergic to Gluten and most if not all the menu items Restaurants in the greater Phoenix Area consist of 99% -100% products that contain Gluten (wheat basically).  If someone else wants to do restaurant reviews, feel free to contact me via the contact page.  I’ll post gluten free restaurant reviews around Phoenix as there are some that are really killer.

Individual Art Galleries – If there is one type of information on what to do around town that is over staturated in the Greater Phoenix area or just too many of it’s individual art gallery events.  Not gonna happen here.  I will definitely post Art Walks, Arts and Crafts festivals, and other things like that but not individual Art Galleries.

That’s it!  If you have any question or have any tips on what you would think would be great events for your fellow residents of Phoenix to attend, feel free to drop us a line via the contact page if you have questions or anything like that.
